National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month
The month of May is recognized as National Teen
Pregnancy Prevention Month, an educational campaign
designed to help communities recognize the impact of
unintended teen pregnancy. The campaign mobilizes
communities to help young people develop responsible,
positive behavior & attitudes regarding sex and
sexuality.
National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Day
As part of Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month, The National
Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy has
designated May 7, 2008 as National Day to Prevent Teen
Pregnancy. On May 7,2008 teens nationwide will be asked
to visit the National Campaign’s new website
www.stayteen.org and
take a short scenario based quiz that ask young people
what they would do in a umber of risky sexual behaviors.
The purpose of the day is to focus the attention of
teens to the importance of avoiding too-early pregnancy
and parenthood.
